We have started to enjoy camping after we moved to Ontario. Until then, we did not know how camping is enjoyable, family summer vacation with a little money.
There are 272 Provincial Parks in Ontario, some are very popular and you are not able to get a site in peek season without reservation. Some are recreational PP, and some have kept as natural environment. In these days, you can find comfort stations, which have flash toilets and shower facility in many PP, beside regular necessities for water and toilets.
Generally speaking, a campsite is fairly spacious with a picnic table and fireplace with grill.
We went Killbear PP (north of Parry Sound) and Mikisew PP (80km north of Huntsville) 4 days each in August, 1999. We paid $14.00 per night at senior rate.
Dining shelter and a tent. The right is our tent trailer. The front part is bedroom and the back is dining area.
Hardtop trailer.
What a big trailer!
While camping, people enjoy swimming, fishing, boating, canoeing, hiking, bicycling, and campfire with marshmallow. In bigger parks, there are amphitheaters with many programs after dark, and the stuff also conduct day programs for kids as well as for adults.
Amphitheater. When the stage door is open, a screen appears. After a general lecture on the shore, they are instructed kayaking on the water.
We hiked through white birch forest, and in another hiking , we came out this point.
We are not so skillful canoeists, and paddle along shore. I think these cottages are standard.
The canoe on the right is ours. We ordered to cut on the back end for a motor, but still no motor!
We did see this sunset!
