Algonquin Park in Fall

To reach Algonquin Provincial Park from Toronto, you drive toward north about 210km for Huntsville, then take Hwy60 to east, direction to Ottawa, for 43km.

Algonquin PP is a huge park consisting of many lakes and forest. Hwy60 run through the bottom part, and it is 56km from the west gate to the east gate.

There are 8 camping grounds, and only one ground is open year round and another two are open until October 11 (Thanks Giving Day) in 1999.

My husband and I went to the park to see the colour on September 28, 1999. The weather was not so great, but we enjoyed the beauty of nature.

This photo of yellow colour was taken from the deck at the visiter's center which is located 43km from the west gate.

It was difficult for me to take a good close up image

The colours are brighter under the sun.

You can enjoy the fall colour along the highyway for 30km(!), if you go there in a right period of time.
