Parthenon in the Acropolis of Athens
Because the Olympic will be held in Athens in August 13-29, 2004, we saw a lot of constructions are going on in the city, not only building new facilities but rebuilding or remodelling in many places. Athens' airport and Piraeus port (Athens) seem to be organized well. The new subway system is fine with clean stations and trains. There are so many places to see in Athens and the surrounding areas, but I think the best is to see them by yourself. Athens were named the capital of Greece by King Otto in 1833.
アテネで２００４年の８月にオリンピックが開催されるので、町のあちこちで工事が見られました。 新しい施設や道路のみならず、建物の化粧直し、道路の整備などで大変でした。 改装のため国立考古博物館も閉鎖でした。 オリンピックの時のお客様の為にも頑張っているのでしょう。 アテネ空港も新しく、アテネに繋がるPiraeusの港は大きくて、アテネに向かう道路も綺麗になった印象を受けました。 路線はまだ少ないですが、アテネの地下鉄は新しく、駅も電車もクリーンで気持ちが良かったです。 バスは縦横無尽のように思いました。 アテネ市内は勿論、一日ツアー観光で、近辺に行くところがあちこちあります。 が、何と言ってもご自分の目で見られるのが一番でしょう。 アテネは、Otto王様により１８３３年にギリシャの首都、と名指されたようです。

この古代野外劇場はアクロポリス城壁の一角のすぐ下にありますが、観光客はアクロポリスから下りる事ができません。

ソクラテスが、この石の丘に立ち弟子達に教えたといわれる所。 オリンポスにいる神々の王、ゼウスの広大なテンプルの跡。
